Memories of Wales – Swansea, The Mumbles

When I was in Cardiff last week, I also spent a day at Swansea and The Mumbles, where we strolled along the coast.
Here are a few pictures of the trip, along with some short comments:

We went to Swansea by train. You had to apply a special method to open the door if you wanted to exit. First, you had to open the window, then grip the door handle from the outside, and then open the door (see description on the blue sign)!

Some of the buildings built right into the ocean look quite daring. We started to hike along the coast of Wales.

Strong winds, waves, plenty of dampness in the air. In summer time, this is probably a paradise for surfers.

I used to believe only Mediterranean countries knew forest fires!

A few meters on, you find blossoming flowers of Wales in November. The Gulf Stream probably helps.

Another beautiful beach. This time nice and sandy, as so often found in Wales.

On we go. And always a totally new landscape after a short time.

Here, the trip is at its end. The rest of the way is over the hill, into the village and then back to Swansea by bus. From there, the train with the pragmatic doors will take us back to Cardiff Central Station.
