It Was a Nice Party …

Report on the InterFace Christmas Party of 2010

This year, we had our InterFace Christmas party at the “Paulaner” in the Hochstrasse on the Nockherberg. We had invited all InterFace employees with their families and a few very dear friends. They were all welcomed after 6 p.m. by the friendly Nockherberg service team and the trio Mister Act in the great circus in front of our dining hall.

After many nice private conversations while we took our aperitifs and accompanied by the soft a cappella songs sung by Mr Act, we entered the big dining hall. Our colleagues from marketing, sales and administration had done a terrific job preparing it with loving attention to detail. More than 150 guests found seats around the tables, only very few seats remained unoccupied.

The first jubilant outcries came from our numerous young and very young guests, because right at the beginning of the evening, each of them received a gift bag. Along with the seasonal culinary treats and the inevitable chocolate Father Christmas, it also contained painting books to prevent youngsters from getting bored.

Boredom, however, was not something that had a chance to grow. After all, Mister Act had morphed into the band Espresso and as such provided excellent entertainment for the entire night.

This year, we had no buffet. Instead, the meal was served individually at the tables. First, we had pumpkin soup, then the traditional duck with red cabbage and dumplings.

It certainly was a typical Christmas Dinner. And for our vegetarians, we also served a delicious vegetable lasagne.

The mood in the dining hall was quite a good one all night long.

And at 11 p.m., the “Chicas Kikas” stormed into the hall and – with the support of Augusto at the piano – serenaded us. Wearing white boas and golden tinsels, their Christmas medley made for a really excellent Christmas atmosphere.

Incidentally, the “Chicas Kikas” (as opposed to Augusto Aguilar) are not professionals. Rather, they are a group of people cooperating Kikus and trying to help children find their way in and into the world by learning languages.

After this intermezzo, the band rocked their socks off and there was plenty of dancing. The high spirits continued and the party went on long after midnight.

As a consequence, I, too, was in high spirits and really content. The Christmas Party was a successful finish of a successful, but also exhausting year 2010.

I would like to thank our long-time colleague Lars Schmiedeberg for taking all those nice pictures.
