Another 11 nights before Christmas!

Until I graduated from high school, chess continued to play an important role in my life. Today, I am still a member of two chess clubs, the chess club Unterhaching and the Tarrasch-1945 München. I play in the club championships of both. And then in the spring, I also play for the SC Unterhaching in the Munich team championships
For me, the tournaments are a niche where I can concentrate for several hours on end and switch off everything else. As I did in former times when I programmed computers. That is the ideal pre-Christmas occupation.

P.S.
The picture was taken by Rolo Zollner. He came to visit me during my match last Friday when we played the club tournament of Tarrasch. He was my Fortune Fairy. I had the black pieces. I succeeded in winning the match after a little more than three hours, because the player of the white pieces gave up after the 27th black move (S:f6). Thinking time was one hour 45 minutes per player for the first 40 moves and then 30 minutes for each of the remaining moves.
To the left, you can see a modern version of a chess clock. Yes, even the chess clocks are now digital clocks, needing batteries. Gone are the days when the leaf fell…
